An excellent opportunity has arisen for the position of Commis Chef at Prestwick Golf Club, in what can only be described as not your typical hospitality job that's for sure.
Shift patterns tend to be 7:30am until 5pm (to be discussed further at interview)
Prestwick Golf Club is the Birthplace of the Open Championship which is steeped in golf history. This role is an excellent opportunity to work with our experienced kitchen team using fresh local produce throughout the year and learn a mix of traditional and modern ways of cooking.
Prestwick Golf Club have there own bakery department within the kitchen which provides fresh bread every day for members and Guests. This will be an excellent chance for the commis chef to experience making fresh breads and desserts.
Depending on experience (beginner or confirmed), the Commis Chef may carry out the following tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation and production in the kitchen
- Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and equipment
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support the Head chef and senior kitchen staff in various tasks as needed
Qualifications:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
