HGV Technician

The Role
We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop based in Bridgwater. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable and compliant with DVSA standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Perform repairs on brakes, suspension, engines and transmissions.
- Complete MOT preparation and DVSA safety inspections.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and DVSA standards.
- Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HGV servicing, maintenance and diagnostics.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
