Job Purpose:
Factory workers operate machinery to manufacture different products, which can vary depending on the industry. Factory workers are responsible for a range of functions including processing, sorting, and packing the products, as well as operating the machines and monitoring the output to ensure compliance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precision cutting of materials
- Matching the correct tools to the correct job specification
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ensuring accurate information is recorded on paperwork and signed by the relevant person
- Handling materials with care
- Checking and ensuring the quality of products produced
- Correcting errors, discrepancies, or deformities
- Cleaning and organising the shop floor in line with health and safety guidelines
- Packing products correctly for distribution
- Verifying appropriate packaging is used
- Lifting up to 25kg maximum
- Working efficiently and effectively to meet target schedules and deadlines
- Maintaining stock levels
- Performing root cause analysis and resolving problems
- Identifying business improvement opportunities and providing feedback
- Undertaking continuous training and development
- Occasional overtime may be available to meet business needs
- Cross-functional working

Desirable Skills:
- GCSE Maths
- Understanding of production costs, including waste and rework
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30m-5:00pm, Friday 6:am-2:30pm
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
