Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, proactive, and reliable Pottery Cafe Assistant to join our front-of-house and behind the scenes operations. Although the role is initially on a part time basis, we are looking at long term succession planning, and the role could evolve to a full-time management position – this could lend itself well to a recent graduate or a candidate with significant retail experience.

Behind the scenes, you will eventually potentially be exposed to areas involving glazing, kiln duties, stock management, paint prep, and organisation to keep the studio running smoothly on a day to day basis.
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys structured, methodical work and takes pride in keeping systems organised and reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, restocking, and organizing supplies before the shop opens.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, drinks station, and customer areas.
- Guide customers through the pottery painting experience including selecting items, explaining materials, answer \any questions, and ensure a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
- Prepare drinks and snacks after customers have arrived.
- Learning the name and prices of over 200 pots so invoicing to clients is completed quickly and accurately.
- Packaging of pots that come out of the kiln with the correct pots being ‘matched’ with the right customer.
- Help coordinate and support the team during busy periods (changeover) to ensure the shop is correctly set-up for the next session.
