Job Purpose
As a Mobile Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, refurbishment, repair, and maintenance of powered access equipment across customer sites. You will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive safe, reliable, and fully compliant equipment, delivering a high standard of engineering support and customer excellence.
Working predominantly in the field, this role includes breakdown response, planned maintenance, and LOLER inspections. You will ensure all equipment performs at its full operational capability and meets all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, refurbishment, and repair of powered access equipment at customer sites and depots
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults
- Attend and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimise equipment downtime
- Conduct LOLER examinations and inspections in line with statutory requirements
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company QMS procedures and health & safety standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping within service vehicles and workshop areas
- Act as a professional ambassador for the company, delivering excellent customer service at all times
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working on powered access equipment or similar plant machinery (essential)
- IPAF
- Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently in a mobile role while maintaining high standards
- Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
- Engineering qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent
- CAP (Competent Assessed Person) License - We will support to obtain license
- Full, clean UK driving license
