Electrical Design Engineer – The Role:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering electrical designs from concept through to project completion. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality technical designs, carrying out electrical studies and supporting projects through design, construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities

Design LV / HV electrical systems for utility, infrastructure and industrial projects.

Produce electrical calculations including load flow, fault level and protection coordination studies.

Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment and installations.

Prepare design reports, calculations, drawings and technical documentation.

Carry out site surveys, inspections and provide technical support during project delivery.

Ensure designs comply with current UK regulations, standards and client specifications.

Attend client, contractor and design review meetings.

Support projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Electrical Design Engineer – What We're Looking For:
We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering practical engineering solutions.
Essential Requirements

HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Prior experience in electrical design.

Experience designing LV / HV electrical systems.

Knowledge of electrical modelling software such as Amtech, ETAP or PowerFactory.

Understanding of UK electrical standards and industry regulations.

Experience producing technical reports and engineering documentation.

AutoCAD experience.
-
Background within utilities, power distribution, electrical connections or industrial projects.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Desirable
-
IET membership or working towards professional registration (IEng/CEng).

Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
