Are you an inspiring and dedicated mathematician looking to stretch the minds of bright, motivated pupils in a prestigious academic setting? Wayman Education is currently seeking a talented Mathematics Teacher for a full-time, permanent position at a premier independent school in Reading, starting in September 2026.
The School Environment
Situated in the thriving educational hub of Reading, this independent school boasts a reputation for academic rigor, traditional values, and a forward-thinking approach to STEM education. The Mathematics department is highly collaborative, dynamic, and focused on fostering a genuine love for problem-solving.
- Exceptional Resources: You will teach in modern, well-equipped classrooms featuring the latest interactive learning technologies and advanced mathematical software.
- Small Class Sizes: Benefit from small class sizes that allow for personalized academic extension, targeted support, and deep conceptual exploration.
- Academic Ambition: Mathematics and Further Mathematics are exceptionally popular choices at A-Level, with students consistently achieving stellar exam results and securing places at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
- Intellectual Freedom: The school supports staff in implementing innovative pedagogical approaches and enriching the curriculum beyond standard exam specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE/IGCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Mathematics and/or Further Mathematics).
- Challenge and inspire high-attaining students while effectively supporting those who require foundational reinforcement.
- Prepare pupils thoroughly for public examinations, fostering both algorithmic proficiency and deep mathematical reasoning.
- Lead and support co-curricular mathematical initiatives, including the UKMT Mathematical Challenges, Olympiad training, and competitive math clubs.
- Contribute fully to the wider life of the school community, including pastoral duties (as a form tutor) and the school’s extensive extracurricular program.
