We're currently recruiting for a Crane Engineer to join one of our established clients in the Liverpool area!
Our client operates in the construction sector, supplying cranes to companies across the UK. This particular role is to support their northwest team.
We are pleased to be able to offer this role on a permanent basis. Therefore, if successfully, you'll be employed directly by our client on a full-time permanent contract.
What you’ll be doing
This is a varied and hands-on engineering role involving the service, maintenance and repair of mobile cranes ranging from 10T to 200T. Split between the workshop and customer sites across the Northwest, you'll carry out inspections, fault finding, planned maintenance and breakdown repairs while helping to maximise fleet reliability and minimise downtime.
- Service, maintain and repair a fleet of mobile cranes ranging from 10T to 200T
- Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and breakdown repairs
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and inspections
- Service and maintain company vehicles and ancillary equipment
- Organise repairs, parts procurement and stock control within the workshop
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Support customer site visits throughout the Northwest when required
- Work closely with the Operations Team to minimise equipment downtime
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
No weekend work required.
Overtime available.
Pay
£45,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience) + Company Van + Overtime
Overtime paid at time ½ & double time
Skills/Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Mobile Crane Engineer, Crane Fitter or Heavy Plant Engineer
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills
- A valid UK driving licence
- Experience carrying out inspections, servicing and breakdown repairs
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within engineering environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills

Essential
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience on the service, maintenance and repair of Crane systems.
- Must be based in the Northwest area.
