Transport Planner – High & Heavy Division

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our busy High & Heavy Division, coordinating the movement of vehicle transporters and plant equipment across the UK.
This is a key role within a specialist logistics operation where precision, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential. You'll be part of a supportive team that works together to ensure every movement is carried out safely, compliantly, and on time.
Essential Requirement:
- Minimum 12 months’ relevant HGV transport planning experience, with the ability to clearly demonstrate practical knowledge of route planning, vehicle allocation, and driver compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule the transport of vehicle carriers and heavy plant machinery
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and third-party suppliers
- Monitor live transport activity and adapt plans where necessary
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and safety standards
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records using transport systems and software
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a transport planning or logistics coordination role
- Strong understanding of HGV and plant movements
- Good working knowledge of UK transport regulations and geographical routing
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with transport planning software (desirable but not essential)
