Love Being Out and About? Want Your Work to Truly Matter?
If sitting behind a desk isn’t for you and your energy comes from meeting new people, working in local communities, and making a genuine difference — this could be the role you’ve been looking for.
We’re recruiting confident, values-driven Field Fundraisers to represent Macmillan Cancer Support — one of the UK’s leading cancer charities.
Right now, around 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030, that number is expected to rise to 4 million. Macmillan Cancer Support is there for people at every stage of their cancer experience — providing practical, emotional, physical and financial support when it’s needed most.
This is your opportunity to play a direct role in that mission.
About Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support provides vital help to people living with cancer and their families through:
- The Macmillan Support Line offering free, confidential advice
- Specialist Macmillan nurses and healthcare professionals
- Financial guidance and grants to help people cope with the cost of cancer
- Emotional and practical support services
- Campaigning to improve cancer care and patient rights across the UK
Cancer affects 1 in 2 people at some point in their lives. The need for consistent, reliable fundraising has never been greater — and that’s where you come in.
As a Field Fundraiser, you are a crucial part of making that support possible.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll travel across your regional territory (up to 60 miles from your home postcode), setting up at pre-booked, high-footfall venues such as shopping centres, supermarkets, and community spaces.
Your role is simple but powerful:
- Start meaningful, face-to-face conversations
- Raise awareness about Macmillan’s services and impact
- Inspire people to become regular supporters
This is ethical, values-led fundraising:
- No hard selling
- No pressure tactics
- No gimmicks
Just genuine conversations rooted in empathy, compassion, and impact.
You’re not selling a product — you’re giving people the opportunity to support individuals and families facing one of life’s toughest challenges.
This Role Is Perfect For You If:
- You enjoy being field-based and working on the road
- You love meeting new people and building rapport quickly
- You’ve worked in sales, fundraising, hospitality, events, or customer-facing roles
- Or you’re new to fundraising but naturally confident and people-focused
- You’re resilient and understand rejection is part of the journey
- You’re happy travelling within a 60-mile radius
- You want purpose alongside performance-based earnings
What You’ll Get:
- £100 day rate
- Uncapped commission – realistic OTE £60,000
- Full training in fundraising compliance, communication, and cancer awareness
- Ongoing coaching and in-field support
- Clear progression pathways
- A supportive, mission-driven team
A Quick Reality Check
This is a physically active, people-facing role. You’ll be on your feet, speaking to hundreds of people each week — indoors and outdoors. Not everyone will stop, and not everyone will say yes.
Resilience matters.
But if you’re warm, driven, confident, and motivated by making a genuine impact — this role offers both meaningful purpose and strong earning potential.
