Job Title: CNC Programmer / Setter Operator
Location: Gloucester
Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
A large subcontract machining operation based in Gloucester is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter Operator to join its growing team. The business supplies high-precision components to aerospace, automotive, and defense industries and operates a modern machine shop featuring Mori-Seiki, Doosan, and Fanuc-controlled CNC equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist looking to work in a stable, high-quality manufacturing environment with a strong and varied customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
- Working with Fanuc-controlled systems and multi-axis machining centres
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Carrying out in-process inspection and quality checks
- Making programme edits to improve efficiency and cycle times
- Supporting continuous improvement within the machine shop
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming, setting, and machining
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls (Mori-Seiki or Doosan experience advantageous)
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or defence environments preferred
- High attention to detail and strong quality focus
- Able to work independently and as part of a skilled team
