Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various destinations across London ONLY, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Experience with flatbed and commercial driving is highly desirable.
Duties
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods across designated routes
- Ensure all cargo is secured properly before transit and during loading/unloading processes
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during journeys
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, adhering to safety protocols
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained throughout shifts
Requirements
- Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
- Delivery driver experience is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for cargo securement
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating excellent organisational skills and punctuality
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed, including early mornings or late evenings if necessary
