We are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to join our growing manufacturing team, with a focus on our metal machining applications including SolidCAM, CAMWORKS & Delmia. This is a dynamic multi-faceted position where you will be required deliver all aspects of our manufacturing CAM software solutions to our customer base.
You will work alongside a team helping customers from simple 3 axis machining to multi-axis milling, mill turn and Swiss. In industry sectors such as aerospace, automotive, medical, energy, industrial and more.
The role will include activities such as training, technical support, post writing, product demonstrations and programming consultancy as well as supporting the commercial and wider technical team with your industry knowledge.
Location
The ideal candidate will be based in Ireland or south of England, but exceptional candidates from the midlands will be considered. While we offer some flexibility in working, you will ideally need to be able to commute to one of our offices at Leamington Spa, Fareham, Aylesbury, Caldicot, Belfast or Dublin,. Occasionally there may be a requirement to travel further afield, including throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Key accountabilities of the role:
- Advising customers on best practice principles of metal machining and software application.
- Implementing systems to new customers.
- Developing custom post processors to suit customers requirements.
- Supporting the commercial team to ensure customers receive the correct products.
- Using your specialist knowledge to support other members of the technical team.
- Providing Training and technical support to our manufacturing customers.
- Occasional travel and staying away from home will be required as part of this role.
Needed skills and experience
- Industry experience in CNC programming in metal machining applications.
- Previous experience operating SolidCAM, CAMWORKS, Delmia or another industry leading CAM systems is a real advantage.
- Ability to read and understand G-Code.
- Writing post processors or debugging G-code/CNC programs in (Fanuc, Heidenhain, siemens etc)
- Familiar with common machine control systems (Fanuc, Heidenhain, siemens etc)
- High level of self-discipline and pride that is reflected in quality of work.
- Understanding of the DFM process.
Desirable Skills
- Experience operating or programming CNC machine
- Previous applications experience.
- Coding skills (VBA, VB.Net, Javascript, Html, CSS, C#)
- SOLIDWORKS, Catia, Experience.

Salary Range: OTE £33,500 - £44,500
- £24,543.00-£35,000.00 Base Salary
- Personal Bonus (8-12% of Salary)
