£36,000 to £42,000+ (depending on experience) plus weekend bonus | Midlands & North of England
We've just secured a large contract and need one or two skilled engineers to help us deliver it. This isn't your standard electrical job.
No chasing work. No quoting. No wondering where the next job is coming from.
We've got a steady pipeline and a clear plan. You turn up, you get a full spec, and you deliver it as part of a small, tight-knit team.
We install AV and data infrastructure in high-spec environments most people never get to see, including courts, major sporting venues, and secure government sites. It's detailed, varied work. If you like using your brain as well as your hands, you'll enjoy it.
The Package
- Basic salary £36,000 to £42,000, more if you've got strong electrical and data/comms experience
- Fixed bonus for weekend work, and most of this project runs evenings and weekends, so it adds up
- Paid holidays and pension
- When working away, you're properly looked after: decent hotel, own room, meals and expenses covered
- All in, this typically pays more than a standard employed electrician role
What We Need From You
- Full, clean driving licence
- Electrical and data communications experience
- A relevant electrical qualification, 18th Edition essential
- City & Guilds 2391 (inspection and testing) preferred
- Right to work in the UK, and able to pass security clearance and vetting (may require a 5-year address history)
- Right attitude above everything else: reliable, hardworking, good team player, decent attention to detail
Asbestos awareness, manual handling and working at height training can be provided if needed. Any AV experience is a bonus but not essential.
The Work
- Team size 3 to 8 depending on the job
- Weekday evenings roughly 4:30pm to midnight, weekends roughly 8am to 6pm (excluding travel)
- Based mainly across Birmingham, the wider Midlands and the North of England, with some travel and occasional overnight stays
- Permanent position for the right person. Open to fixed-term or subcontractor arrangements too, so apply even if that fits you better
- Contract has already started, so your start date depends on clearance, references and your notice period
A Small, No-Egos Team
Good people who get on and get the job done. You won't be micromanaged, but you will be expected to deliver. And you'll need a sense of humour, though that's not because the wages are a joke.
