Principal / Associate Structural Engineer
Cardiff, South Wales £45,000 – £55,000 DOE
We are working with a leading company who are seeking a driven Principal or Associate Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to lead projects, mentor engineers, and make a meaningful impact across a diverse portfolio of work.
You will be involved in a wide range of projects, taking responsibility for technical delivery while supporting the development of the wider team and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

What you'll be doing
- Lead the design of building structures across major sectors using steel, concrete, timber & masonry
- Manage a small team delivering projects from £1m to £20m, while juggling resourcing, fees, timelines, and quality
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders
- Conduct building inspections and structural reports with sound recommendations for remedial work
- Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Report directly to Directors on project progress, financials, and QA compliance
What we're looking for
- 5–7 years' structural design experience across a variety of building types
- Degree-qualified (BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering)
- Chartered or actively working towards IStructE or ICE chartership
- Confident in Tedds and Tekla Structures (or similar)
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and communicating clearly with all stakeholders
- Strong technical and analytical design skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Full UK driving license (required)
