Bike Bros is a professional independent bike shop and workshop in Guildford. We sell, service and repair bikes, and we pride ourselves on giving honest, expert advice. We're growing, and we're looking for another mechanic to join our workshop team.
We're open to two types of applicant:
- An experienced mechanic ready to work independently from day one, or
- An apprentice who's keen to learn the trade properly with us (apprenticeship available for the right candidate).
What you'll be doing
You'll be servicing and repairing a wide range of bikes, working both on your own and as part of the team. We run an open workshop, so the role is customer-facing, you'll be talking to customers in person and over the phone, diagnosing problems, and advising on the right parts and work. We'll expect you to make sound decisions on the spot and take pride in the quality of every bike that leaves the workshop.
Who you'll work with
You'll work alongside our full time Workshop Manager and a team of part time mechanics, in a friendly, professional environment.
What we're looking for

- Hands-on mechanical aptitude (cycle experience ideal; relevant mechanical experience also considered)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Confident, friendly communication with customers face-to-face and on the phone
- A genuine interest in cycling and a willingness to learn
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Cytech or equivalent qualifications
- Experience with e-bike and suspension systems
What we offer
- Apprenticeship for the right candidate
- Further manufacturer training (Shimano, Bosch and others) to develop your skills
- A professional, supportive workshop where doing the job properly matters
Keen cyclists with real knowledge of the sport and the kit will fit right in.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £19,500.00-£25,000.00 per year
