Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Italian Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and presentation. The Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and supporting the overall smooth running of the kitchen. The candidate will also take on the job of head chef on required days
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient team management and collaboration
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering supplies, and waste management
- Support training programmes for junior staff to enhance skills and knowledge
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with company recipes and specifications
- Assist in creating innovative dishes to enhance menu offerings
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation, ensuring a safe working environment
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Experience working in a hospitality or restaurant setting with knowledge of food safety standards
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving procedures, and customer service principles
