Job Overview
We are seeking two reliable, caring, and detail-oriented Nursery Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidates will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for children, staff, and visitors within our nursery setting. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of cleanliness in supporting children’s health and wellbeing.
Duties
- Carry out daily cleaning duties across the nursery, including classrooms, toilets, kitchen areas, staff rooms, corridors, and communal spaces.
- Ensure all areas are cleaned and sanitised to a high standard, with particular attention to hygiene and infection control.
- Safely use cleaning products and equipment in line with health and safety procedures.
- Empty bins, replenish hygiene supplies, and maintain tidy and organised environments throughout the nursery.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or supply shortages to management promptly.
- Work effectively as part of the nursery team to help provide a welcoming and safe environment for children and families.
- Follow all nursery safeguarding, health and safety, and cleaning procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.
- Good communication skills and the ability to understand instructions in English.
- A strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for young children.
- An understanding of hygiene standards within childcare settings would be beneficial.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 3:45pm – 5:30pm (Term Time Only).
