PLEASE READ THE WHOLE ADVERT BEFORE APPLYING - We are looking for a new part time permanent team member to start immediately working a minimum of 24 hours a week, it will include working at a weekend, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year, hours could be a full day or just morning so flexibility is a must, you should also be available to work additional hours during our peak periods ie school and staff holidays. Staff rota is done on a monthly basis but you need to be available to work any of the days during the week/weekend. Start time can be from 7am but can be earlier during busy periods or owners away and finish time is normally no later than 5.30, but as said before flexibility is a must.
Competence, confidence and common sense are all required and a light hearted, fun, smiley individual would fit in perfectly .
You really need to live no more than a 25 min commute as it can be early starts during busy periods and when owners are away.
Our Pet Hotel caters for both dogs and cats for day care and overnight boarding. You must be confident handling both dogs and cats, and be able to cope with the physical demands of the role. Your day to day duties would include;
* Cleaning out Kennels/cat pens
* Exercising Dogs
* Greeting customers
* Preparing food and feeding
* Giving medication to both dogs and cats
* Answering telephone calls, taking bookings and payments
* Bathing dogs
Will will need a genuine passion for animals and be committed to promoting their care and welfare. You should be good at working in a team but equally be able to work well on your own, and have good initiative. You need to be able to communicate well with both owners, members of the public and your colleagues, reliability is a must.
You will be required to work regular weekends and overtime is always a possibility during very busy times and covering full time staff holidays. Due to the location of the kennels, own transport is essential as public transport is very limited. The work is physically demanding and will involve working outside at all times during the year.
Please note that holidays will not be authorised during peak periods, ie school holidays
