Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods across various supply chain channels, ensuring timely delivery and optimal utilisation of resources. Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate transportation activities using systems such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and SyteLine to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including scheduling, documentation, and tracking of consignments.
- Utilise AS400 platforms for data entry, inventory management, and order processing.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimise freight costs and delivery schedules.
- Analyse logistics data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory levels.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
- Monitor supply chain activities to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Assist in analysing supply chain performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Previous Logistics experience is desireable
- Customer service experience is essential
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and logistics management.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional phone manner.
- Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and maintaining detailed records.
- Knowledge of 3PL operations and freight optimisation strategies.
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain roles is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating independence when required.
