Are you an Early Career Teacher or Student Teacher looking for flexible work across Workington and West Coast Cumbria? Humly North West is recruiting educators for short-term supply, classroom support and September 2026 opportunities across local primary schools.
This is ideal if you’re an ECT wanting to build confidence across different schools, or a Student Teacher due to qualify this year and looking to gain paid classroom experience before September. Some short-term bookings may also lead into longer-term September opportunities.
Role Details
Location: Workington / West Coast Cumbria
Pay Rate: £120-£130 per day for ECT teaching roles, depending on experience
AWR Pay Rate: From week 13 in the same role with the same hirer, where applicable, up to £168.80 per day
Student Teacher Opportunities: Paid classroom support / Teaching Assistant opportunities may also be available from £14.25 per hour
Schedule: Flexible, full-time and part-time supply available
Start Date: Ongoing now and from September 2026
Role Type: Temporary supply and short-term bookings
What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on your experience and qualification status, you may be supporting with:
- Day-to-day and short-term primary supply teaching
- Classroom support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Small-group and individual pupil support
- Covering planned absences and helping schools stay consistent
- Building school experience ahead of September opportunities
- Supporting pupils with learning, routines and engagement
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You…
- Have QTS, are an ECT, or are due to qualify as a teacher this year
- Are a Student Teacher looking for more paid classroom experience
- Are confident working with primary-aged pupils
- Can adapt quickly to different school settings
- Are reliable, professional and positive with pupils
- Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to apply for one
- Are willing to complete Humly’s safeguarding and compliance process before placement
