Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food safety, barista techniques, and customer service within a vibrant café setting. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks.
- Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or baked goods.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
- Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling cash and card transactions.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
- Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for those new to coffee preparation.
- Basic understanding in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy. Training will be provided
- Basic food preparation knowledge such as assembling ingredients efficiently. Training will be provided
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively and maintain a smooth workflow. Pay: £12.71-£12.75 per hour
