Business Teacher

Wayman Education is seeking an ambitious, innovative, and dedicated Business Teacher to join a highly successful department at an 'Outstanding' Ofsted-rated secondary school and sixth form in Newcastle. This full-time, permanent position is scheduled to start in September 2026 and is open to both experienced educators looking to advance their careers and exceptional Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

The business department is a highly popular and well-resourced faculty, offering a modern curriculum that successfully connects theoretical principles with real-world enterprise, finance, and corporate management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging Business Studies lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (including GCSE, A-Level, and vocational pathways such as BTEC or CTECH).
- Inspire student interest in enterprise, marketing, financial planning, and global economic structures through dynamic and interactive teaching methodologies.
- Track, assess, and report on pupil progress and coursework alignment in accordance with exam board specifications and whole-school data frameworks.
- Implement effective adaptive teaching strategies and differentiation to stretch high-attaining pupils while providing robust support for students with SEND or EAL needs.
- Contribute actively to the wider business and economics department, participating in collaborative planning sessions, standardization moderation, and extra-curricular enterprise initiatives.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in Business Studies, Management, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: A proven track record of teaching business courses within a UK secondary school or sixth form college setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
- Skills: Strong, up-to-date subject knowledge, confident classroom management techniques, and the ability to articulate complex financial and corporate concepts clearly.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
