Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team as we prepare ahead of our peak season and move in to opening on evenings. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation and food preparation, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment and is eager to contribute to our culinary success.
Working Hours
We are currently looking for someone to work daytime on a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday each week. There will also be many opportunities to work additional hours to cover shifts, special events, annual leave and peak demands throughout the year.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are clean, functional, and safe to use.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a busy café setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines, with an emphasis on meal preparation.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
- A culinary qualification or relevant training is preferred but not essential for the right candidate with practical experience.
Qualifications
