Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and innovative Fashion Designer to join our creative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and developing fashion collections that align with current trends and brand identity. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise a diverse set of digital and traditional design skills to produce compelling fashion pieces. The ideal applicant will have a strong eye for detail, a passion for fashion, and proficiency in various design software programmes.
Responsibilities
- Develop original fashion concepts and designs through sketches, mood boards, and digital illustrations.
- Utilise software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Maya, CAD, Sketch, and Adobe InDesign to create detailed technical drawings and visualisations.
- Create digital prototypes and 3D models using programmes like SketchUp and Maya to refine designs before production.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visual content including photography, video editing using Adobe Premiere and After Effects, and social media graphics.
- Assist in the development of web design elements related to the brand’s online presence.
- Conduct research on current fashion trends, colour palettes, fabrics, and materials to inform design choices.
- Support the production process by preparing technical specifications and collaborating with manufacturers or pattern makers.
- Contribute to branding efforts through graphic design and marketing initiatives that enhance brand visibility.
Requirements
- Proven experience or strong portfolio demonstrating skills in digital design, graphic design, and fashion illustration.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Figma, Maya, CAD programmes, SketchUp, and video editing tools.
- Knowledge of web design principles and experience with photography relevant to fashion shoots.
- Familiarity with marketing strategies related to fashion branding and social media content creation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas clearly within a team environment.
- A keen eye for detail with an understanding of colour theory, fabric textures, and garment construction techniques.
- A degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred but not essential if accompanied by a robust portfolio.
