Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Schools Skateboard Coach to join our team. This paid position involves instructing school-aged children in skateboarding skills, promoting safety, and fostering a positive environment for learning and enjoyment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports coaching and teaching, with the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm among young learners.
Duties
- Deliver engaging skateboarding lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Teach proper safety techniques and encourage responsible skateboarding practices
- Organise and supervise skateboarding activities during school sessions and organised events
- Provide personalised feedback to help students improve their skills
- Maintain a safe environment by inspecting equipment and ensuring the skating area is hazard-free
- Foster a fun, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere that promotes teamwork and confidence
- Assist in setting up equipment and organising skateboarding sessions in accordance with programme schedules
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably with children or adolescents
- Strong knowledge of skateboarding techniques, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate young learners
- Organised, responsible, and able to manage groups of children effectively
- Enthusiastic attitude with a genuine interest in promoting physical activity through skateboarding
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Relevant first aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided if necessary
Pay: £15.00 per hour
