We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established transport and logistics business based in North Lanarkshire, for an experienced and detail-oriented Transport Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised individual with previous experience working within a transport or traffic office environment who thrives in a fast-paced operational setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily transport operations, coordinating vehicle movements, maintaining compliance records, and ensuring the efficient management of transport activities.
Plan and coordinate daily vehicle routes, schedules, collections, and deliveries.

Monitor driver performance and compliance.

Liaise effectively with drivers, customers, depots, and internal departments.

Respond proactively to operational issues, route changes, delays, and customer requirements.

Maintain accurate transport records, planning systems, delivery schedules, and compliance documentation.

Support fleet administration, including servicing schedules, maintenance records, insurance renewals, and breakdown reporting.

Monitor transport performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Prepare transport and logistics reports to support management decision-making.

Deliver excellent customer service and respond promptly to telephone and email enquiries.

Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and transport legislation.
Previous experience working within a transport or traffic office environment is essential.

Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) is advantageous.

Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Able to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
Review daily delivery and collection schedules and monitor transport activities.

Communicate with drivers and customers regarding schedules, delays, and operational updates.

Update transport systems and maintain accurate records and documentation.

Handle transport-related enquiries via telephone and email.

Monitor fleet maintenance schedules and liaise with service providers when required.

Produce reports and analyse operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Support the wider transport team in maintaining high service standards and operational efficiency.
