The Opportunity:
Role: Graduate Cover Supervisor (Full-time, Monday – Friday, term-time only)
Location: Biggleswade
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £500 – £520 per week (Term Time Only)
We are working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Biggleswade seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Cover Supervisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or graduates looking to gain meaningful school-based experience.
You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences, supervising classes across a range of subjects and supporting students to remain engaged and on task.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Cover Manager, supervise pupils during the absence of their class teacher
- Take class registers as required
- Liaise with Curriculum Leaders to clarify lesson instructions where necessary
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants to support individual pupils within lessons
- Deliver clear instructions based on pre-set work and actively supervise learning activities
- Report any non-participation or behavioural concerns to the class teacher
- Contribute to behaviour management in line with the school’s Behaviour Policy
- Provide feedback on completed learning activities
- Support the wider school community and contribute positively to the learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a degree qualification (minimum 2:2)
- Have a strong educational background and an interest in working with young people
- Be confident managing a classroom and maintaining firm but positive boundaries
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Have a proactive, solution-focused attitude and work well as part of a team
- Remain calm, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Be interested in progressing into teaching or another education-based career
- Be willing to support students with additional SEMH/SEND needs
