Job Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our warehouse team in a fast moving environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing orders for shipment, and route planning with good geographical knowledge of the UK road network for our own delivery drivers, ensuring that all items are handled with care and efficiency. This role is crucial to maintaining our high standards of quality control and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Efficiently pick and pack orders according to specifications, ensuring accuracy in the selection of items.
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels.
- Load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring safe handling and storage of materials.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on products to maintain high standards.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming shipments against packing lists.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is essential.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment, including forklifts, is advantageous.
- Ability to effectively manage stock levels and utilise warehouse management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure accurate order fulfilment.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy items (up to 25 kg) and standing for extended periods.
- A proactive attitude towards teamwork and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
