Planner / Estimator
Location: Greater Manchester (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 38 hours per week / Days
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organisation within the engineering sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner/Estimator to join a growing business, playing a key role in both customer engagement and production planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with customers to understand requirements for quotations and new orders
- Prepare, issue, and manage quotations in a timely manner
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms where required
- Develop detailed work instructions for manufacturing processes
- Review and validate orders against original quotations during contract review
- Maintain accurate records of quotations and associated documentation
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience within a manufacturing environment (ideally 5+ years)
- Previous experience in estimating and quotation processes
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Good level of computer literacy
- Familiarity with modern quality standards (e.g. AS9100 or similar)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and confident in decision-making
