Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent driving skills, and a focus on customer satisfaction. Prior experience with commercial driving and flatbed deliveries is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies during all driving activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or commercial vehicles.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles.
- Experience with flatbed lorry operations and securement of cargo.
- Strong knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations within the area of operation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical fitness for loading/unloading cargo and handling deliveries.
- A clean driving record with no recent violations or endorsements related to unsafe driving practices.
