Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
- Assist in the organisation and management of designated sections within the kitchen
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, equipment, and storage areas
- Support junior kitchen staff through training and guidance to uphold high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas based on current culinary trends
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a busy restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, meal preparation, and food safety regulations
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or restaurant setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and presentation
- Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential
