Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Fish and Chip Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop. Duties
- Prepare and cook traditional fish and chips, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Serve customers at the counter, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with food presentation and packaging for takeaway orders.
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop, including kitchen areas, dining space, and equipment.
- Upsell additional menu items to maximise sales opportunities.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper food handling procedures.
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering questions about menu items.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients.
- Experience in kitchen or culinary roles is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanour.

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
