Job Overview
Temporary Chef required 2 or 3 10/12 hr shifts
Starting early July, till early August
Only people with relevant skill will be considered, must be happy in their work and confident with ordering.
Must be able to work Sundays and Thursdays 3rd day to suit if desired
Small pub with fresh menu.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Oversee food safety practices, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure quality and consistency
- Manage food production schedules to meet service times and customer expectations
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and minimise waste through effective stock control
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience in food production, culinary arts, and team management
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Good communication skills with a professional attitude towards service excellence
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential
