Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Nurse/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This role involves providing excellent patient care, managing reception duties, and supporting the clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with their check-in and check-out procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise dental instruments in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assist the dental team during procedures, including passing instruments and ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reminders efficiently
- Provide information to patients regarding treatments, aftercare, and general enquiries
- Handle administrative tasks such as processing payments and updating patient details
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and organised
- Support the practice’s compliance with infection control protocols and health & safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare setting, preferably in dentistry or nursing
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Good IT literacy, including experience with practice management software or similar systems
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a professional attitude
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications in nursing or dental assisting are desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
