Job Summary
As an Operational Support Team Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring equipment is properly maintained, stored, and available when needed. You will help ensure that events and activities across your community network are well-resourced, enabling St John volunteers to deliver services effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to carry out stock checks in line with approved levels.
- Conduct equipment checks and support safe storage, deployment, and fault reporting.
- Assist with vehicle checks and movement.
- Support the movement and distribution of equipment and resources.
- Help set up, deploy, and restock equipment for events.
- Participate in the Operational Support national community of practice, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Promote sustainable and ethical practices in line with St John’s environmental and financial commitments.
Person Specification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
- Good data and numerical skills to support stock management.
- Intermediate ability in Microsoft applications and other IT systems.
- Open to both drivers and non-drivers.
Training and Support
You will receive:
- A welcome and induction programme introducing you to the Network and wider organisation.
- Training on relevant St John Ambulance policies and procedures, including safe equipment storage.
- Role-specific safeguarding training.
- Moving and Handling training, including use of sack and pallet trucks.
- Training on ProCloud systems.
- A 3-hour Essential First Aid course.
