About the Role
We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Supply Learning Support / Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Secondary schools. This is a flexible role ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and want to gain experience in different school settings.
As a Supply Learning Support / Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils access learning, supporting classroom teachers, and assisting students who may require additional help with their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting teachers with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
- Working one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who require additional support
- Assisting students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) where required
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds who have experience supporting others. This could include:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
- Experience in care work, support work, youth work or residential care
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs or disabilities
- Personal experience supporting children or family members with additional needs
- Any other role that demonstrates patience, empathy and the ability to support others
School experience is beneficial but not essential, we value transferable skills and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
Requirements
- A positive, patient and supportive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work across different schools.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
