Job Purpose:
A key role within the hygiene team, ensuring that required hygiene standards are consistently met. In particular, food safety, quality, legality, consumer protection and adherence to legislation / customer codes of practice. Following a daily hygiene schedule and ensuring cleaning materials are used in accordance with procedures.
Helping to deliver great hygiene standards by consistent and diligent delivery of the hygiene plan. Ensuring that all cleaning activities are of a high standard and completed following site health & safety procedures. Building positive and productive working relationships with other departments, delivering excellent service and seeking ways to continuously improve.
Key Responsibilities
1. To maintain an effective factory hygiene service to the business.
2. Efficiently follow the daily hygiene schedule.
3. The use of powered access equipment – Scissor or Boom lift
4. The use of Forklift trucks (Gas & Electric)
5. To be able to work in a confined space environment
6. To ensure cleaning materials are appropriately used and stored in accordance with legislative and COSHH requirements.
7. To use cleaning equipment and cleaning material in accordance to internal and external guidelines.
8. Report any malfunctions or misuse of cleaning equipment to the supervisor.
9. Accurate completion of hygiene records.
10. Comply to food handling procedures.
11. Ensure waste materials are correctly disposed of following site waste procedures
12. To have a working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals.
13. To be able to diligently follow set hygiene schedules and follow task specific cleaning instruction cards, in a timely manner.
14. To co-operate in the mechanics of a continuous improvement environment.
15. Knowledge and understanding of the daily production plans.
16. To carry out duties that might reasonably be requested by the management team.
17. Basic knowledge of the operation of all machinery.
18. Carry out the full end-to-end deep cleaning of all machinery and associated parts, tanks and pipework, the building structure (internal and external).
19. Carry out risk assessments as required
20. To work in accordance with creating a ‘right first time’ operating system.
21. To fully understand the Personal Hygiene Policy, Health & Safety rules and regulations of the Company. To take reasonable care for the Health & Safety of self and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions related to your work. To co-operate fully with the management of the Company regarding any duty or requirement imposed on them by the relevant Personal Hygiene and Health & Safety Legislation.

Essential:

Desirable:
- Technologically proficient in (Computer/Tablet) operating systems
- Hygiene and/or industrial cleaning experience
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment or similar
- Good understanding of COSHH / Chemical awareness
- Knowledge of HACCP, CIP systems, pest management
- Powered access equipment trained
- Forklift truck trained
- Confined space trained
