Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar photovoltaic systems on residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Duties
- Prepare installation sites by assessing the location, ensuring safety, and setting up necessary scaffolding or equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble mounting systems, electrical components, and solar panels according to technical specifications.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators where required for site preparation or foundation work.
- Perform welding tasks when necessary for secure mounting or structural modifications.
- Connect electrical wiring, inverters, and other system components following electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct system testing to verify proper operation and troubleshoot any issues during installation.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Experience operating excavators or similar machinery is advantageous but not essential.
- Electrical experience or background in electrical installation is preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment safely.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance.
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred for site access; willingness to travel between sites is necessary.
