We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable FARSI-speaking Family Support Worker to support a family living in the Greenwich area.
This freelance role focuses on supporting young children and providing practical guidance to a mother within the home environment. The position is ideal for someone nurturing, patient, and passionate about empowering families and supporting children’s emotional and developmental well-being.
Consistency, warmth, and reliability are essential for this role.
Working Hours
- Mondays – 4:00pm to 6:00pm
- Wednesdays – 4:00pm to 6:00pm
- Fridays – 4:00pm to 6:00pm
(Additional hours may become available depending on the family’s needs.)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support in line with programmes designed by Social Care professionals
- Offer gentle, practical parenting guidance and emotional reassurance
- Assist with form filling, advocacy, and accessing community services
- Support children’s engagement in educational and recreational activities
- Help establish calm, structured, and positive daily routines
- Monitor progress and communicate observations to relevant professionals
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing home environment
Essential Requirements
- Fluent in FARSI and English (spoken and written)
- Experience working with families, mothers, or young children
- Ability to offer non-judgemental guidance and emotional support
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
Desirable Experience
- Family advocacy (1+ year preferred)
- Family/children support (2+ years preferred)
- Behavioural support or SEN experience
- Experience supporting migrant or non-English-speaking families
- Background in social care, education, early years, or family support
Other Requirements
- Valid enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
