Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying all types of paint coatings to various surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction and refurbishment sectors, contributing to the transformation of residential, commercial, and industrial spaces.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to achieve desired aesthetic effects.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to determine colour schemes and decoration styles.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Manage materials efficiently to minimise waste and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Assist with minor repairs or surface preparations as required for specific decorating tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating.
- Good understanding of colour matching and decorative techniques.
- Ability to operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills in English for liaising with clients and team members.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between sites.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
