Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Bank Staff to join our team at Ivy House Farnham on a flexible basis. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our nursery by assisting with childcare, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children and providing excellent care in line with early childhood education standards.
This is a zero hours contract where you will be requested to work shifts when we have a staff shortage. This could be due to staff sickness, staff holidays or staff training, children attending ad-hoc days and so on. The shifts could be working 5 hours to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6pm, there is no guarantee on how many hours will be offered.
The hourly rate does depend on age, experience and childcare qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
- Support the delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment for children
- Support nursery staff with daily routines such as meal times, nappy changing, and play sessions
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Follow health and safety policies diligently to uphold a secure environment
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, including record keeping and attendance monitoring
- Support nursery management in implementing policies related to early childhood education and childcare standards
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
- Ability to work effectively within a team and demonstrate leadership qualities when needed
- A caring attitude, patience and enthusiasm for working with young children are essential
- Relevant childcare qualifications or ongoing professional development in early childhood education are beneficial but not mandatory

Pay: £10.85-£14.00 per hour
