Mobile Plant Fitter
Birmingham, Coventry, Tamworth
£17 - £20 p/h + OT 1.5 rate weekends
This is an exciting opportunity to join a major projects team, responsible for servicing and maintaining a wide range of construction and earthmoving equipment.
You will carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and component replacement on equipment including excavators, articulated dump trucks, dozers, telehandlers, compaction and agricultural machinery.
The territory covered includes Birmingham, Coventry, Tamworth & surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine servicing of construction equipment in line with manufacturer schedules and specifications
- Lubricant and fluid checks, monitoring and replenishment
- Preventative maintenance and condition monitoring
- Fault identification and reporting
- Cleaning, inspection and preparation of equipment for transfer or redeployment
- Fitting and replacing parts and consumables
- Supporting larger maintenance and repair tasks alongside other team members
- Assisting with the installation of digital and safety systems such as GPS tracking, camera systems, height and slew restrictors (training provided)
Skills & Attributes
- NVQ Level 2 or 3
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Experience working with plant, construction equipment and hydraulic systems
- Ability to carry out routine maintenance to a high standard
- Understanding of risk assessments and method statements
- Proactive, self-motivated and well organised
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
