Structures Group is a specialist contractor delivering restoration, conservation, structural repair and refurbishment projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Sand Blaster / Surface Preparation Operative to join our expanding team.
Working on a variety of commercial, industrial and heritage projects, you'll be responsible for preparing a wide range of surfaces using abrasive blasting techniques to the highest standards of quality and safety.
The Role
As part of our specialist team, your duties will include:
- Abrasive blasting of steel, concrete, masonry and other substrates.
- Preparing surfaces for protective coatings and repairs.
- Setting up, operating and maintaining blasting equipment.
- Working safely in accordance with site RAMS and company procedures.
- Completing work to high quality standards while meeting programme requirements.
- Working across projects throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience as a sand blaster or abrasive blasting operative.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Good understanding of surface preparation techniques.
- Strong awareness of health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and work away when required.
Desirable:
- IPAF.
- PASMA.
- Confined Space or Face Fit certification.
- Experience within construction, industrial maintenance or heritage restoration.
- Knowledge of protective coatings and painting systems.
