Job Overview
We are an experienced Sandwich/Deli Counter Manager to oversee daily operations within our retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering the many variations of dishes required to sell in our busy sandwich /deli shop. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation of the counter. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills to lead a team in a fast-paced setting, ensuring smooth and efficient service while driving sales and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the deli counter team, including scheduling, training, and motivating staff to deliver exceptional service
- To create excellent tasting dishes to services on our sandwich and deli counter, ensuring products are prepared fresh and presented attractively
- Maintain stock levels through effective merchandising and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and company policies
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Implement sales strategies to promote products and increase revenue
- Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities
- Manage administrative tasks such as cash handling, record keeping, and reporting as required
Skills
- Proven kitchen/management experience within the food service environment, with strong supervisory skills
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organisational abilities
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Proficient in merchandising, sales management, and time management techniques
- Organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Administrative experience related to stock control, record keeping, or reporting is advantageous
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
