WPS are excited to be recruiting for a Management Accountant (Business Partner) to join our Wates Property Services Finance team, supporting our growing Facilities Management division.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams to drive performance, improve efficiency and influence decision-making across Hard FM contracts.
As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting and performance insight across our Hard FM services (including building maintenance, engineering and asset management).
You'll partner closely with Contract Managers and operational leaders, providing meaningful financial insight, challenging where needed, and helping to drive contract profitability and service delivery excellence.
- Produce accurate month-end accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
- Deliver clear variance analysis (actual vs budget vs forecast) with actionable insights
- Provide contract-level profitability analysis and trend insights
- Lead rolling forecasts across contract portfolios
- Support annual budgeting aligned to operational and contractual requirements
- Continuously update forecasts based on risks, opportunities and operational performance
- Analyse revenue across PPM, reactive and lifecycle works
- Identify risks such as under-recovery, scope creep and unbilled works
- Support pricing, variations and change control decisions
- Monitor and challenge costs including labour, subcontractors and materials
- Identify cost efficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to drive cost accountability
- Analyse financial and operational KPIs linked to contract SLAs
- Highlight impacts of performance on penalties, incentives and service delivery
- Support development of dashboards and reporting tools
- Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders
- Provide clear, actionable financial guidance to non-finance teams
- Support decision-making across staffing, delivery and investment
- Identify financial and operational risks across contracts
- Support mitigation strategies and contract reviews
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance contract margins and efficiency
- Experience in a Management Accountant or similar business partnering role
- Ideally qualified (or working towards) a recognised accountancy qualification
- Experience within Facilities Management or a service-based environment
- Strong Excel skills (Power BI advantageous)
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge stakeholders
