Leader Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in schools and alternative provisions across Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting while making a real difference in students’ lives.
This is a full-time (Monday–Friday), long-term position supporting students across primary, secondary, or specialist settings.
You will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs

Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, or learning difficulties

Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust

Assist teachers in delivering structured and inclusive lessons
-
Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
-
Help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment

Encourage the development of social skills, confidence, and independence
This role is ideal for someone who:

Holds a degree in Psychology (or a related field)

Has a genuine interest in child development, behaviour, and mental health

Is patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations

Can build strong relationships and set clear boundaries
-
Is proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn

Is considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, or SEN support
Previous experience with children or young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, care, or coaching) is beneficial but not essential.
