Play Mandarin 玩中文 is looking for an energetic and passionate Part-time Mandarin Teacher to join us! The right candidate should have experience teaching children in person, ideally between 18 months and 11 years old.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience creating curriculums and preparing class materials. You should be enthusiastic about teaching, responsible, detail-oriented, punctual and observant. Being able to sing, dance and have A LOT OF patience is essential!
This is a part-time position. Working days and hours may include weekday classes, weekend classes, after-school clubs, 1-to-1 sessions, online classes, holiday camps and weekend workshops, depending on class allocation, programme needs and the candidate’s availability.
There may be opportunities to increase working hours over time depending on performance, availability and company needs. You may be on a probation period for 6 to 12 months. We may be able to sponsor a working visa if necessary, based on performance and suitability.

MUST:
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English
- Able to read and write both Traditional and Simplified Chinese
- Any Chinese teaching certificates, qualifications or PGCE would be a plus
- Must have a valid UK working visa for more than 8 months
Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans and prepare your own class materials for students
- Teach students in weekend classes, 1-to-1 sessions, online classes, holiday camps, weekend workshops and other programmes as needed
- Maintain and manage a classroom setting for up to 12 students
- Support students’ Mandarin learning through engaging and age-appropriate activities
- Collaborate with parents to support students’ learning progress
- Work with the team to support curriculum development and class preparation
Pay: £25.00-£40.00 per hour
