Requirements
Must have the right to live and work in the UK
Must be over 21 years old
Must hold a full clean driving licence
Must be able to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (Health & Social Care – children and young people pathway)
Experience working in children’s residential care (minimum 1 year desirable)
Strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s welfare
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Deputy Manager to join a 4-bed children’s home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and ready to support the Registered Manager in delivering outstanding care.
You’ll be an integral part of the leadership team, helping to ensure a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can thrive and staff feel empowered.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
Provide direct care and lead by example in line with care plans
Supervise and mentor care staff to ensure high standards of practice
Support the delivery of safeguarding and behavioural strategies
Contribute to staff rotas, supervision, and shift planning
Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies
Participate in inspections and help maintain regulatory compliance
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, consistency, and care
