We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive School in Fareham. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for someone who is motivated, caring, and experienced (or willing to learn) in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a talented and passionate team to provide tailored support to students with varying needs. Your role will be varied, offering one-to-one support, assisting in group activities, and helping students engage with the curriculum in a way that suits their individual learning styles.
You will help students develop important life skills, assist with personal care, support communication through alternative methods, and create a safe, nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to students with ASD, SLD, and PMLD, both in and out of the classroom
- Assist in personal care and daily living tasks where needed
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages independence, growth, and confidence
- Implement individual learning plans and help facilitate access to the curriculum
- Support students in their social and emotional development
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child
